Marina Liao is the Senior Fashion News Editor at TZR, where she writes and edits stories pertaining to red carpet and celebrity style (at this point, she knows everything there is to know about Kate Middleton’s royal wardrobe), designer profiles, shopping news, costume designer profiles, and more. At TZR, some of her story highlights include original interviews with stars like Lola Tung and Natalia Bryant in addition to designers like Svitlana Bevza, Ashlynn Park, and Chet Lo. When she’s not busy conducting interviews, writing, or editing, she’s coordinating the next batch of fashion samples for TZR’s Fitting Room series, where editors give their most candid reviews/thoughts on the latest collab, seasonal pieces, and trends.
Prior to TZR, Marina was the digital fashion editor at Marie Claire, where she covered celebrity style and created affiliate commerce content for the website. There, she launched the successful series What I Wear To Work and also boosted e-commerce revenue for the brand through thoughtful and compelling SEO shopping stories. Her bylines have also appeared in POPSUGAR, where she wrote across different verticals such as beauty, fitness, fashion, and moms. Marina graduated from Stony Brook University with a degree in Journalism and has interned at various publications, including Cosmopolitan.
When she’s not at work, Marina volunteers with Korean K9 Rescue — she adopted her dog Willow here — and attempts to play tennis. (She’s still trying to hone her skills in the sport.) She’s a die-hard Brooklyn native and is always down to explore and relearn parts of her neighborhood, whether it be checking out a new restaurant, small-owned bookstore, or vintage shopping spot.
